Unless you are already residing in a cave, you are already aware about South and north Korea. Well, you will want to look at the demilitarized zone between the two countries.

The Korean War needs to be among the longest in the good reputation for man. While I do not know whether which it necessarily true, it must be on the websites for available. Why? Well, it officially never ended.

The Korean War was among those indirect wars between the USSR and U . s . throughout the Cold War era. Even though countries never officially attended war, they'd do battle indirectly through other countries. Korea was one place. The intricacies of these war are beyond this post, however the important things is to understand how it all ended. This hadn't!

In 1953, hostilities stopped and negotiations began. A legal contract could never be reaches, but hostilities failed to restart. The end every one of the process was you now have a demilitarized zone dividing South Korea and North Korea. The zone is no greater than a mile wide. There isn't any troops within it, but a good amount of land mines as well as other nasty things. On either side with the zone, you'll find troops. Lots of them.

The rather odd benefit of the Demilitarized Zone is it has turned into a tourist attraction. There is absolutely no fighting whatsoever. Consequently, you'll be able to take tours where you educate yourself on the good reputation for the war, the negotiations and how things stand now. You can even please take a guided tour down and up the line where you will see North Korean troops on the reverse side with the zone. Amazing will explain never to waive etc, but then can it himself. It's all regulated so surreal, it's kind of challenging to experience it all.

Among the most odd elements of the coming to the zone is actually getting there. You can join many different seoul city tour companies. They're going to then require over to the zone along the Freedom Road. Be aware when you traverse it. Things move from a hectic country to near silence as you approach the zone. It'll make your epidermis crawl.

Obviously, going to a demilitarized zone is just not for everybody. If you're looking for something else entirely, however, this definitely has a great balance.
