Something that many women aspire to have is smooth, clear legs. In the old days, as the legs of a woman began to show some additional wear and tear, the only two ways to cover it up were by wearing pantyhose or long pants, even in the summer. Of course, that is not fun to do, and now with advancements in medical technology, there are various procedures available that can help.

Spider veins are an indication of too much pressure that has been put of the veins in the legs, and so in order to treat these veins, spider vein removal becomes a consideration. These veins, usually purplish red in color, occur when their blood flow has been obstructed in some way. So, the veins swell to accommodate the blood flow. There are two main methods of spider vein removal. The first method is known as sclerotherapy. This involves using a very thin spider vein treatment needle to inject the veins with medicine, with the goal of getting the vein to collapse back into the leg. This spider vein removal technique will require a couple of sessions over a period of time. Exactly how many sessions will depend on the severity of the veins.

The second type of spider vein removal is in the form of laser treatments. The energy from the lasers stimulates the veins to shrink. Usually, laser treatments will take less treatment sessions. But, it is important to note that it will take time for the veins to disappear, usually at least six weeks.
