What is Threads Embroidery Software?

Threads Embroidery Software is digitizing software for embroidery machines. This software can be used on almost any machine that does embroidery. This includes home embroidery machines, commercial embroidery machines, and industrial embroidery machines. Examples of machines Threads supports include Tajima, Barudan, SWF, Toyota, ZSK, Melco, Babylock, Janome, Brother, Butterfly, Happy, Futura, Husqvarna, and Pfaff. If your machine is not supported by any of our formats, please let us know and we will try our best to add it.

How do I upgrade Threads Embroidery Software?

  • To check for updates please click on the Online option available in the tools bar. Once clicked select Check for Updates to check for recent software updates.
  • Threads Embroidery Software will check for recent updates online. Make sure you are connected to the Internet. Once complete software problems will prompt to download latest files.
  • Click yes to download the files. Threads Embroidery Software will open a webpage with a download link
  • Download the file to by clicking on the executable link available. Once downloaded run the executable file from the download directory. Setup will automatically update the current version of software to the most recent version available. Please use this guide to follow installation instructions.

Note: if updating software results in errors or unpredictable behavior please follow these steps to downgrade the earlier version of Threads Embroidery Software

  1. Uninstall software using Windows Add/Remove Programs option under Control Panel.
  2. Search for Threads Embroidery Software
  3. Once uninstalled download an earlier version of Threads Embroidery Software here
  4. Follow the guide here to install the earlier version of the software.

How do I create a design?

  1. Load the image. You can do this by selecting File->New->Project with image from the menu. A file dialog box will appear which will allow you to upload your image.
  2. Once you have your image loaded you can begin digitizing it. Enter the digitizing mode by clicking the right mouse button within a blank area of your project. A menu will appear which will list digitizing mode as an option.
  3. Right click again in a blank area and you will see the list of digitizing tools that Threads ES contains.

Editing

What is the gird dialog?

The Grid Dialog Box has the grid settings and also the ruler settings. You can turn both individually on and off. Grids are usually just used for aligning points. Individiual rulers can also be drawn when the ruler icon is pressed. In order to draw the ruler, click and drag the left mouse button. Hold the right button to move the entire ruler. The ruler will show the length and the angle.

Lettering

Can I create lettering or names with ThreadsES?

Yes, and it is very easy and fast. ThreadsES comes with pre-digitized fonts. If you don't find the font you are looking for then let us know. Threads also comes with the ability to create and digitize your own fonts in seconds.
