In recent years, many clinics offering liposuction in New Jersey have also begun offering non-invasive, sculpting or "fat melting" procedures. Though these procedures are revolutionary in scale, they aren't considered by the profession to completely replace standard liposuction processes.

The End Results of Liposuction and Sculpting

Liposuction results will be immediately visible but will not obtain their final appearance until the patient has fully recovered, a process which can potentially take months. Depending on how much fat tissue was removed during the liposuction, however, the results may be extremely visible right away. Sculpting results will generally take much longer to show, because they require a slow reduction of the fatty tissue over time. It cannot be used to remove large amounts of fat.

The Treatment methods of Liposuction and Sculpting

Liposuction is the manual extraction of fatty tissue.

Though there are many strategies and processes involved, liposuction at its simplest involves making an incision in the patient through which fat is removed. Sculpting, on the other hand, uses methods such as lasers and cold treatments to break the fatty tissue down from outside . The fatty tissue then has to be absorbed and ejected from the patient's body through the patient's natural bodily processes.

The Recovery from Liposuction and Sculpting

Liposuction recovery depends largely on the amount of tissue removed. A minimal liposuction may take a few months to recover from. A more significant liposuction may take six months to recover from. In general, most sculpting procedures do not require any recovery period. Though the patient may be slightly uncomfortable following the procedure -- which, itself, may cause some pain or irritation -- they will not require bed rest to heal the way a liposuction patient would.

Non-invasive sculpting procedures are generally far easier for a patient to recover from. Additionally, they don't involve any scarring. However, the dramatic results that are provided by liposuction cannot be provided through body sculpting. Body sculpting is generally used for patients that have poor allocation of their adipose tissue, rather than patients who are looking for loss of overall weight.
