Established in 1972, Atlanta Private Schools, situated on 37 acres in the heart of Sandy Springs, serves children ages about six weeks through Grade 12.One powerful way Mount Vernon amplifies learning is through design thinking. As being a partner of Stanford's d.School, MVPS opened the Mount Vernon Institute for Innovation (MVIFI) in 2010, engaging students in real-world, people-centered problem solving. Mount Vernon also offers other intriguing techniques for students to experience the world, including a unique offering called Interim Term. Traveling through cultural arts trips, national college tours, mission trips, and taking part in internships, students broaden their learning experiences after dark classroom. Impacting the broader Atlanta area, Mount Vernon students perform greater than 10,000 hours of community service every year. Additionally, opportunities on the playing field abound with 90% of scholars playing one or more of the School's 45 teams. Extending the mission of Mount Vernon Presbyterian School beyond the walls in the school, Mount Vernon's Institute for Innovation delivers Modern learning and teaching to local and global communities.Through professional learning workshops, international exchange opportunities, and service and outreach, the Institute builds effective public-private partnerships that promote inquiry, innovation and impact.
