The 13 honored are hockey players Ken Morrow, Rob Blade, and Garry Galley, all of whom wore the No. 3; four former men basketball players in Wyndol Gray (No. 7), Howard Komives (No. 30), Antonio Daniels (No. 33) and James Darrow (No. 55); four football players in Erik White (No. 7), Cris Shale (No. 8), Dave Preston (No. 9) and Brian Leaver (No. 31); women basketball player Jackie Motycka Mossing (No. 43); and volleyball player Linda Popovich (No. 1).
The uniform numbers will still be available for current and future Falcon athletes.
The five athletes who previously have had their jerseys retired are men basketball player Nate Thurmond (No. 42), football player Paul Miles (No. 29), and hockey players George McPhee (No. 9), Nelson Emerson (No. 19), and Brian Holzinger (No. 19).

The criteria used by an eight member panel for selecting the 13 included receiving his or her undergraduate degree from BGSU or, in the event of early pursuit of a professional career, being a student in good academic standing and having made significant progress towards a degree; being at least 10 years removed from graduation and being a member of the BGSU athletics hall of fame, and having exceptional athletic qualifications such as national award recognition, All American status, and/or conference player of the year status.
PENROD HONORED: BG volleyball player Paige Penrod was named Mid American Conference East Division offensive player of the week.
Penrod was named most valuable player of the Best Western Falcon Plaza Invitational as she helped the Falcons to a 3 0 record, including a win over previously undefeated Michigan State in the first varsity athletic event in the Stroh Center. Penrod had 19 kills, seven digs and two blocks against the Spartans and finished the weekend with 54 kills as BG moved to 9 0.
UT women basketball assistants promoted
University of Toledo women basketball assistant coaches Nitra Perry and Todd Mitmesser have both been promoted to associate head coaches, UT coach Tricia Cullop announced.
