Mother Board

Early Toyota AD850
The mother board is located in a steel enclosure in the back left corner of the machine under the wooden cover plate. It has external connectors for external power supply and 9-pin SUB-D serial connection. Internal Connectors for step-motor and sewing motor control, control box, all sensors and needle change motor. The printed board has 3 CPU and 3 ROMs in sockets. The 3 ROM are as follows:

  • M-ROM
  • X-ROM
  • Y-ROM

Some machines have EPROMS (either ex-works or after software up-grade). These ROM or EPROM have 64KByte (type 27C512)

The 4th ROM (Operation ROM) is located in the Control Box.

  • OP-ROM

Depending on software version the OP-ROM is 27C256 or 27C512.

Late Toyota AD850
The mother board is located in a steel enclosure in the back left corner of the machine, under the wooden cover plate. Late AD850 have a daughter board within the same steel enclosure.

The motherboard has external connectors for external power supply and 9-pin SUB-D serial connection. Internal Connectors for step-motor and sewing motor control, daughter board, all sensors and needle change motor. The printed board has 3 CPU and 3 ROMs in sockets. The 3 ROM are as follows:

  • M-ROM (latest known ver 6.2)
  • X-ROM (latest known ver 6.0)
  • Y-ROM (latest known ver 6.1)

Some machines have EPROMS (either ex-works or after software up-grade). These ROM or EPROM are 512Kbit (64Kbyte) 27C512.

The daughter board has external connector to disk drive and internal connectors to mother board and control box On late AD850 the 4th ROM is located on the daughter board.

  • OP-ROM (latest known ver 6.2)

Due to more implemented functions the ROM is 128KByte (27C1001). Depending on software version the OP-ROM is 27C256 or 27C512.
