Toyota is a manufacturer of single head embroidery machines. The Toyota embroidery machine company is based out of Japan. Toyota is one of the most well-known single head brands in embroidery machine manufacturing.
Toyota has never produced a multihead embroidery machine.
History, origin and sales
Toyota started manufacturing multineedle embroidery machines in the early 1990's
Toyota has never had a multihead model. Toyota was one of the first commercial embroidery machines to be small enough to be portable yet large enough for industrial embroidery jobs.
Due to its size, it was very popular for traveling embroidery companies, malls, small shops and small home commercial embroidery businesses.
The Toyota embroidery machine was bought by the Tajima company and has since not been produced. Tajima has released their version of the Toyota under the name Expert.
The Tajima NEO is very similar to the last Toyota model produces, the Toyota 9100. The Tajima embroidery machine company used most of the Toyota 9100 in designing their NEO.
The Tajima NEO is the only true portable machine by Tajima and was partially designed by Toyota.
Other Equipment
Toyota does not produce any other embroidery related products
Software Extensions
Tajima DST (.dst) is the most common software extension for Toyota software and machines. However, Toyota uses several other embroidery software formats. Tajima DST is the most common embroidery format found.

820 Series

The 820 series was the second multineedle embroidery machine released by Toyota. The Toyota 820 was a 6 needle single head embroidery machine. The machine was the first Toyota to have a removable table top to use the tubular embroidery accessory and the first Toyota machine with a cap system.
The cap system on this machine had a separate motor that connected to the machines base.
The machine remained to look very similar to the earlier 800 model but with a few small visual changes like the base color.

{{#invoke:Infobox|infobox}}
The Toyota 820A is a 6 needle machine and the Toyota 830 is a 9 needle machine. Otherwise, the two single head machines were identical. The machines did not come with disk drives however a very rare amount of external disk drives we sold. The machines have a 25 pin serial port that most operators used to connect directly to their PCs to transfer their data designs. Special software is needed to transfer the designs directly to the machine. The Black Box is also a solution to read designs from a USB stick directly into the machine.
The 820A and 830 were redesigned and upgraded from the previous 820 model. A much more sleek control panel was used and the machine came with the ability to store more that one design at a time.
Although the 820A has '820' in its model, the 820A is very different from the 820 model.
The 820A and 830 did not use the cap system with the motor used by the 820 but instead used an all mechanical version.
